I’m Kat, a special needs mama striving to make the most of each day. I help mamas make little changes in their life so that they have more time to focus on who and what they love as they juggle the daily demands of motherhood. We are a family of 5 and my oldest has moderate-severe autism which requires 24/7 supervision. Over the years I have put systems into place so that I can enjoy my life (rather than just get through the day), create this blog, write an Amazon bestselling book and facilitate an autism support group.
♥ ♥ ♥ Moms are busy ♥ ♥ ♥
Mamas are busy, we have a lot to do, and we are constantly striving to do a million things each day. Putting systems into place will enable you to focus your energy on what you are striving for such as your family, your health, saving money, or any special project that you would like to do.
By making small changes each day, these small changes will start to build upon each other and you will feel empowered by what you can accomplish in 30 days, 60 days, a quarter and then a year. By getting clear on what you are striving for, you will be able to start on the path towards your dreams but the key is to START. If you take that first step today, imagine what your life could look like 3 months from now, or even a year.
“you will be able to start on the path towards your dreams but the key is to START.”
It has been almost 10 years since we received my son’s autism diagnosis. At the time, I didn’t know anyone with autism. I felt isolated and alone especially when my son was going through a rough time and his behaviors escalated. Those were dark days, the only goals that I had for myself back then were to make it through the day without falling apart.
My son’s autism diagnosis has changed me, my mindset and my parenting philosophy. I realized that my state of mind impacted him (and the rest of my family) significantly. The saying “If Mama ain’t happy, ain’t no one happy” rings true in our house. I do what I can to have a positive mindset to start the day and get everyone off on the right foot. Over time, I learned strategies that helped me to take care of my family and myself.
By taking care of myself, I was able to not only give more to my family but to start dreaming again – what dreams did I have for my family and myself and what did I need to do to get there? Over time, I have created systems and routines so that I reached my goals and built new ones. I am surrounded by other striving mamas that are taking care of their families and doing amazing things one day at a time.
I invite you to join me as I strive to reach my goals and help other mamas do the same, you can sign up for free here. Together we will make our lives better one day at a time. I can’t wait to see what you accomplish this year!
